Blankbottle Winery, led by the audacious winemaker Pieter Walser, defies convention in the heart of the Western Cape near Somerset West. Blankbottle first shed its labels, both literally and figuratively, to challenge assumptions. When a customer rejected a wine simply because it was Shiraz, Pieter poured the label-less wine anyway, and it became a bestseller.
