Arabella
Set within the prestigious Kogelberg Biosphere, a UNESCO-designated floral kingdom and biodiversity hotspot, Arabella Country Estate is home to one of South Africa’s most distinguished championship golf courses. Designed in 1998 by acclaimed architect Peter Matkovich, this layout runs alongside the tranquil Bot River Lagoon and is framed by the majestic Kogelberg Mountains, creating a backdrop of fynbos, wetlands, and sweeping natural beauty.
The course’s reputation is built on both its aesthetic harmony with the landscape and its challenging design. The signature 8th hole—an iconic par‑5—plays dramatically into the lagoon, while the finishing 18th is celebrated widely as one of the finest closing holes in the nation.
This harmonious blend of championship golf, pristine nature, and refined hospitality makes Arabella a rare gem in the Winelands, a place where every round feels like a masterclass in beauty and elegance.
